Korea Saemaul Undong Center (President Yum Hong Chul) held the 2050 Carbon Neutral Practice Movement launching ceremony in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment at the Seongdong Youth Center in Seongdong-gu, Seoul on the 9th. The 2050 Carbon Neutral Practice Movement launching ceremony was designed to promote the seriousness of the climate change crisis and spread carbon-neutral life practices, and more than 90 people, including Yum Hong Chul, Minister of Environment Han Jung-ae, Saemaul leaders and future generations, attended.
The launching ceremony, which was held during the week of carbon neutrality practice ('21.12.6~21.12.10), was held in the order of president of Korea Saemaul Undong Center's speech, the Minister of Environment's congratulatory remarks, on-site video screening, and reading and performance of the declaration of carbon neutrality practice. On this day, Heo Jae-hyuk, president of Saemaul Male Leaders’ Association of Dongdaemun-gu, and Kim Seol-ran, president of Saemaul Female Leaders’ Association of Mapo-gu, read the declaration of carbon neutrality as representatives of Saemaul leaders. Yum Hong Chul, Environment Minister Han Jung-ae, Saemaul leader city and provincial representatives, and college students wore bracelets promising to practice carbon neutrality, shouted Me first! and raised their promised fingers.
Yum Hong Chul, president of Korea Saemaul Undong Center said at the launching ceremony, Saemaul Undong has been leading the realization of carbon neutrality such as recycling resources, saving water and electricity, and planting trees. We will unite our organizational capabilities to reduce carbon emissions.
