Last year, we, Korea Saemaul Undong Center, pushed ahead the Global Saemaul Undong Project 2015, selecting 31 model villages from 8 countries such as Mongolia (4), Nepal (3), Laos (8), Cambodia (2), Myanmar (2), Uganda (8), Tanzania (2), and Sri Lanka (2).
This year, we are pushing ahead the the Global Saemaul Undong Project 2016, selecting 46 villages from 10 countries such as Timor-Leste (4), Kyrgyzstan (9) as newly-selected villages, and Laos (6), Myanmar (2), Sri Lanka (4), Uganda (6) as villages where the SMU projects are actively being carried out. There are also consistantly-managing villages in Mongolia (4), Nepal (3), Laos (2), Cambodia (2), Uganda (2), Tanzania (2) as well as autonomously-grown SMU villages in Mongolia (3), and Uganda (5).
When it comes to foreign training, we are planing to provide the training courses for the communities from those countries, designing three training courses: the basic, comprehensive, and special courses. The basic course are for the people from the model villages such as Laos, and the comprehensive courses are for the people from the Latin American countries and countries where the autonomous-grown SMU villages exist. The special courses are for the countries that will be invited to the 2016 Global Saemaul leadership Forum (GSLF 2016) and foreign student who are studying in Korea.
