Saemaul Undong is Hope for ‘Better Life for Girls’

The Saemaul Training for Myanmar Female Leaders.

 

Korea Saemaul Undong Center is holding the Saemaul training for the Female Leaders in Myanmar at the Saemaul Undong Central Training Institute (located in Seongnam-si) from June 28th to July 7, 2016.

 

The main objectives of the training course is enhancing capabilities of the female leaders especially on the fields of health and sanitation; in regards to this, we arranged lectures and group discussion sessions that cover various topics including ‘how to improve leadership’, and ‘how to enhance a sense of duty as female leaders’.

 

“We designed this program to put the concept ‘Better Life for Girls’ into practice”, so “I hope you have meaningful time to come up with practical methods for strengthening roles of women as well as application methods for the success of Saemaul Undong.” mentioned Secretary General Cho, Myungsoo of Korea Saemaul Undong Center at the welcoming remarks at the opening ceremony.

 

Thura U Thet Oo Maung, Myanmar Ambassador,  also stressed the importance of Saemaul Undong right after the welcoming remarks of the Secretary General Cho, saying “Saemaul Undong is an effective model that could contribute to the development of Myanmar” and “I believe this training would be helpful for everyone on improving gender equality in Myanmar”.

 

During the training course, the trainees will be given chance to participate in the various programs we prepared including lectures, field trips, group discussions, and a presentation of the action plan.
