Adnan Iqbal, the Commercial Counsellor of Pakistan Embassy to Korea visited Korea Saemaul Undong Center last 2nd. This visit was designed to spread Saemaul Undong to Pakistan and discuss on interacting with one another.
“We, Pakistan, also had the similar project with Saemaul Undong in last 1980’s. Orangi town, the poor area in Pakistan, was selected as the model village and villagers actively had implemented the project by making small groups such as ’Gye‘ in Korea,” Adnan Iqbal said. “I hope Korea Saemaul Undong Center cooperates with us and backs us up to spread Saemaul Undong widely in Pakistan,” he also added.

“Saemaul Undong is different from general Official Development Assistance. Korea Saemaul Undong Center helps people in developing countries based on Saemaul spirits which mean diligence, self-help, cooperation. I expect Saemaul Undong to be applied properly in your country for community development. Also, Korea Saemaul Undong Center will be dedicated to supporting Pakistan.” SO, Jin Kwang, the president of Korea Saemaul Undong Center, explained.
