President SO, Jin Kwang of Korea Saemaul Undong Center had a meeting with Colombian Vice-Minister Patti Londono Jaramillo for Ministry of Foreign Affairs to introduce Saemaul Undong to her and discuss on how to apply it to Colombia’s social integration policies, visiting Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Colombia on June 20.

During the meeting, President SO, said “I believe Saemaul Undong strategy to make inclusive society with villager’s voluntary participation is very helpful for social integration policies of Colombia.”

To this, Vice-Minister Patti Londono Jaramillo, in her response, explained that “The Colombian government is facing different challenges such as economic gap and gap between rich and poor to be solved through social integration policy after concluding peace treaty with Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia(FARC) in Nov. 2016.” She added “I hope we will strengthen mutual cooperation in the future since Colombia badly needs Saemaul Undong which is the Korean successful experience.”
