[June 28, 2017] Special lecture on Saemaul Undong for Dominican Republic adolescent

President SO, Jin Kwang of Korea Saemaul Undong Center had a meeting with Head of Centro de Promocion de la Salud Sexual y Salud Reproductiva de Adolescentes and delivered a special lecture on Saemaul Undong for adolescents, visiting Centro de Promocion de la Salud Sexual y Salud Reproductiva de Adolescentes on June 28.

 

Head Dra. Marina Perez said “Dominican Republic has many serious social problems which are related to female such as maternal and child health, teenage pregnancy, and venereal disease.” She added “Since the center’s foundation with support of KOICA in Feb. 2015, more than 17,000 people received an education. We are substantially contribute to relieving female-related social problems of Dominican Republic through different programs.”

 

In the lecture, President SO said “Only 50 years ago, both Dominican Republic and Korea have same desire to eradicate poverty and create a better future. After 50 years, however, the results of two countries are different.” He added “As a choice we make now determines our future, I hope Dominican Republic will improve their own life instead of relying on others so that they can enjoy true peace by practicing Saemaul Undong and Saemaul spirits of diligence, self-help, and cooperation.”
