President SO, Jin Kwang of Korea Saemaul Undong Center visited four villages(Henagaru, Bush Bata, Kafana, and Kafuku) in PNG and had a time to communicate with villagers on August 29.

These four villages which are scheduled as SMU Model Villages have been implementing income generation project, living-conditions improvement project, and mindset change project by applying Saemaul Undong approach without any outside help since March, 2016.

President SO said “Saemaul Undong which is a motive force of economic and social development of Korea can be good model for development of PNG.” He added that “Relying on overseas aid ends up making the future generation to suffer from aid trap. Therefore people in PNG have to try to overcome poverty and adversity based on the Saemaul Undong spirit of diligence, self-help, and cooperation.”?
