President SO, Jin Kwang. Ph. D. of Korea Saemaul Undong Center had a meeting with Permanent Secretary Jitendra Singh of Agriculture Ministry of Fiji on October 27. Two representatives discussed the effective ways to share the experience of Saemaul Undong and to cooperate each other for expanding Saemaul Undong in Fiji.

Permanent Secretary Jitendra Singh said The Ministry of Agriculture has drawn up policy for agricultural sector of young generation. Many people in Fiji have a good grasp on community development but they don&39t have any experience. He added that so it&39s imperative to set a success case for us. I hope we can make the success case through Saemaul Undong.

To this, President SO, responded Saemaul Undong which focused on strengthening the ability of villagers is to create a environment in which villagers can implement projects for themselves, by themselves. Also, villagers have to the saemaul leaders on their own and  set the priorities for promotion of Saemaul Undong. I sincerely hope villagers in Fiji can implement Saemaul Undong by hodling many meetings themselves.
