[June 5th, 2018] Opening Ceremony of Saemaul Undong Training for five Latin American Countries

Korea Saemaul Undong Center(KSC) held an opening ceremony of the Saemaul Undong training for fourteen government officials from five Latin American Countries : Honduras, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Peru, and Colombia on June 5.

Main objective of the training is to educate roles of civil servants to expand Saemaul Undong to local residents, and improve ability for SMU project implementation and management. Also, trainees will seek for effective ways to  improve a quality of villager&39s life, sharing development experiences through Saemaul Undong.

 

President Chung, Sung Heon of KSC, in his welcoming speech, said We are going to organize different kinds of programs including lectures, presentations, small-group discussions, and field trips for successful expansion of Saemaul Undong in each country. He also added that I truly hope this training will help to set up goals and directions for yourselves, rural areas, and your nation based on SMU spirits : diligence, self-help, and cooperation.
