Eleven public officials from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan attended an opening ceremony of Saemaul Undong training for two CIS(Commonwealth of Independence States) in Korea Saemaul Undong Academy on July 24.

This program which is going to be organized from July 24 to 30 will contribute to expansion of sustainable Saemaul Undong, as well as to improvement of basic understanding about Saemaul Undong methodologies and capacity to implement and manage their projects.

President Chung, Sung Heon of Korea Saemaul Undong Center, in his welcoming remarks, said “South Korea has now become one of the biggest economies in the world. But the important thing is the process, not the result. Korean people played a pivotal role for economic growth of their nation with Saemaul Undong and its spirit of diligence, self-help, and cooperation.” Also, he added “I truly hope the Saemaul Undong training will pave the way for rural development and improvement of quality of your people’s lives.”
