President Chung, Sung Heon had a meeting with Ambassador Abdul Hakim Atarud of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Embassy to Korea on October 24. They shared practical experience through Saemaul Undong and  discussed mutual cooperation plans after touring organic solar farm and garden of the Five primary substance(metal, wood, water, fire, earth) for life revival.

Ambassador Atarud said, “President Ashraf Ghani of Afghanistan, is also showing great interest in Korea’s Saemaul Undong. I would like to ask for your cooperation and interest so that more Afghan citizens and public officials can participate in the invitational training of KSC.”

President Chung, Sung Heon remarked, “I sincerely hope that the experience of the Saemaul Undong in Korea will contribute to the development of various fields including agriculture in Afghanistan” Also he added, “in the post-war modernization process, the status of women has been improved and their roles strengthened through education etc., in Korea. We want you to build a way to strengthen the capacity of women through the Saemaul Undong.”
