Korea Saemaul Undong Center held Saemaul Undong Training for Papua New Guinea for 17 trainees for 10 days, from April 21 to 31.
This training program consisted of sessions on Saemaul Undong theory, field trip, and case studies of Korea’s Saemaul Undong. It was designed to alleviate poverty and improve quality of life by changing public awareness and strengthening people’s capacities to initiate Saemaul Undong.
Tijofi Fosingke, Financial Analyst of Eastern Highlands Provincial Administration, said, “The session helped us to understand Saemaul Undong - the engine behind the growth of Korea. We have analyzed the reality of my country in a cool-headed way and thought about solutions. With Saemaul Undong spirit of diligence, self-help, and cooperation, we will cope with the deeply-rooted individualism and corruption in Papua New Guinea and achieve development.”
