[Resident Referendum for the Uganda Saemaul Leaders]


Three hundred Saemaul members from each region of Uganda participated in the vote for election of the Uganda Saemaul Center executive members at the Namboole Stadium on May 25, 2019. This was the first executive member election in 10 years, and will occur every three years in accordance with the Saemaul country bylaw.

Executive member candidates for the Uganda Saemaul Center should be members of the Center and have the leadership skills to gain the cooperation of villages based on the Saemaul Undong spirit and have participated in the invitational training in Korea at least once. He or she should also have networks with other related Saemaul Undong organizations based on at least either of five-year experience as president or vice president or of two-year or more as other executives.

Including Katerega Edward as the president of Uganda Saemaul Center, total of 9 executives were elected through this election.

Uganda Saemaul Center will actively roll out Saemaul Undong activities in the nation with its newly elected executives.
