On June 11, Vice Editor-in-Chief Ji Zhengju of China Economy Newspaper visited the Korea Saemaul Undong Academy (KSUA) to meet with Mr. Cho, Jae Bum, the Vice President of Korea Saemaul Undong Academy and discuss the development and practical applications of Saemaul Undong.  

Vice president Cho said, “Former General Secretary Hu Jintao expressed great interest in Saemaul Undong. I believe he wished to utilize Korea’s Saemaul Undong as a means of narrowing the income gap between China’s urban and rural areas.” Cho went on to say, “Like China, Korea has undergone rapid economic development. But this does not mean that we have been free of social conflict, such as inter-generational and inter-class conflicts, and environmental problems, such as air, water, and land pollution and global warming. Because all life forms and people are interconnected through one massive, worldwide network, it is essential that China takes an interest in environmental issues.”
