[June 4th, 2019] Deputy Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission of Vietnam visits Korea Saemaul Undong Center

?Bui Tuan Quang, Deputy Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission of Vietnam met with Mr. Chung, Sung Heon, president of Korea Saemaul Undong Center (KSC) to discuss the successful cases of Saemaul Undong, plans to practice, and mutual ways to cooperate.

Deputy Head Bui Tuan Quang said, “Korea has overcome poverty and achieved ‘the Miracle on the Han River’, making it a model for many developing countries in the world. We are grateful that you share your successful stories and experiences of Saemaul Undong that contributed to the change of awareness and living standard for Koreans. I think Saemaul Undong will be of great help for the New Rural Development program now in progress in Vietnam.”

President Chung responded, “Vietnam came to have an attitude of self-help after 100 years of resistance to foreign influence, which provides a great lesson to the people of Korea. Currently, Korea is making new efforts to overcome lax attitude and materialism. Korea Saemaul Undong Center has launched a new community movement based on life, peace, and honor to bring the country in harmony with its neighbors, people, and nature. I hope you will continue to watch this new movement and cheer it on.”
