On the 22nd(Tuesday), a group of UNMISS came to Korea Saemaul Undong Center to receive a Saemaul Undong One-day training for the efficient reconstruction of South Sudan.
UNMISS is contributing to UN Peacekeeping Operations on behalf of Republic of Korea, and has been operating Hanbit Farm since December 2015 to promote the development of South Sudan through reconstruction and training of local experts.
UNMISS members visited Saemaul Museum to learnd about activities of Korea Saemaul Undong from the current to the initial first, and Saemaul Undong archives registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
President Yum of Korea Saemaul Undong Center said, “Korea has a high global status and there are many requests to pass down Saemaul Undong to developing countries.” and “I hope this training to be helpful to inform South Sudan of the essence of Saemaul Undong and help South Sudan take a powerful leap forward based on Saemaeul Spirit of Diligence, Self-help and Cooperation.”
