Korea Saemaul Undong Center(President YUM Hong Chul) held the 12th 「Saemaul Day」 Ceremony on April 22nd, 2022 in the presence of 250 domestic and foreign guests including Prime Minister Mr. KIM Boo Kyum, Vice Minister of Ministry of the Interior and Safety Mr. Ko Gye Chang, and Ambassador Daul Matute-Mejia of Embassy of Peru to Korea.

This commemorative ceremony was prepared to share the future values ​​of Saemaul Undong for the restoration of community consciousness and prosperity of the global community.

President YUM Hong Chul said in his remarks, “I will do my best to make Korea Saemaul Undong a pride of the Republic of Korea even in the 100th Anniversary by complementing generations. This will be done through connecting history and youth expanding young Saemaul Undong.”

Prime Minister KIM Boo Kyum said in his congratulatory speech that he promised continued government support with the request that 'Saemaul Undong Centers Association with national organization and executive power should take the lead in the carbon-neutral national movement and community recovery more than anyone else'.

On this day, as guests of 「the Saemaul Day」 Ceremony, 13 people from 10 Saemaul Coordinators participated in the 「2022 Saemaul Undong Invitational Training for Saemaul Coordinators」 from Monday, April 18th, 2022. Representatives and villagers of 46 SGL Member Countries also attended the ceremony in real time online. In addition, 14 ambassadors and diplomats from 8 countries attended the ceremony, making the ceremony even more special.

After the Ceremony, the 「2022 Ambassador in Korea - Saemaul Coordinator Conference」 held in a separate luncheon. This conference as a venue to bulild a network between the embassy in Korea and Saemaul Coordintor was prepared to share the current status of the Global Saemaul Undong and to build public-private partnerships.

Mr. KIM Seok Jin, Secretary General of Korea Saemaul Undong Center, who attended this event, in his greeting speech, asked the ambassadors, officials and the Coordinators who attended this event for much interest and support so that the global village could develop together and create a better life.
