Korea Saemaul Undong Center (President Yum Hong Chul) held '2022 Global Saemaul Undong Cooperation Seminar’ at 10 am on July 14 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel(Seoul). 

The seminar was sponsored by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and was attended by around 100 guests, including Yum Hong Chul, the President of Korea Saemaul Undong Center, Lee Sang Min, the Minister of the Interior and Safety, Choi Oe Chool, the President of Yeungnam University, ambassadors to Korea from 14 countries, diplomats from 10 countries, and foreign students from 29 countries. 

In the welcoming speech at this Seminar, which was designed to share Korea’s successful experience in promoting Saemaul Undong with developing countries by inviting ambassadors from SGL member countries to Korea and to discuss ways to expand and develop Saemaul Undong cooperation between countries, President YUM said that he hopes the development of Korea through the Saemaul Undong to be the best alternative for the growth and development of all countries in the global village. 

Since 1973, Korea Saemaul Undong Center has provided Saemaul Undong education to over 60,000 foreigners. In 2016, the Center established SGL(Saemaulundong Global League) with 45 countries to promote the Global Saemaul Undong steadily. As of 2022, it is promoting Saemaul Undong Model Village Projects at 42 villages in 10 countries.
