On Thursday, May 14, Korea Saemaul Undong Center held a meeting to discuss the realignment of Saemaul Undong, aimed at restoring communities and expanding global cooperation.
The meeting was attended by about 60 people, including President Lee Jae-myung, government officials, and chairs of Saemaul Undong Center chapters from provinces and cities nationwide. Participants explored future development directions for the movement to effectively respond to complex contemporary shifts, such as regional extinction, the climate crisis, and the AI transformation.
Korea Saemaul Undong Center plans to spearhead community restoration and evolve into a future-oriented national movement. Key strategies to achieve this include serving as a community safety net, nurturing youth-centered village enterprises, fostering AI and digital-based communication, and expanding global cooperation.
