On Tuesday, June 2, Korea Saemaul Undong Center (President Kim Gwang-lim) received a courtesy call from Myo Myint Maung, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Myanmar Embassy to Korea, and discussed ways to spread the Global Saemaul Undong and enhance international cooperation.

During the meeting, Secretary-General Choi Hyong-jae and Chargé d'Affaires Myo Myint Maung shared Korea's experiences with Saemaul Undong and exchanged in-depth views on the current status and future direction of cooperation for the movement within Myanmar.

Both sides reviewed the achievements in Myanmar, where the movement has expanded to nine self-reliant villages following previous pilot projects, and explored ways to cooperate on sustainable capacity building in the future.

Korea Saemaul Undong Center plans to actively share its experiences with Saemaul Undong through vibrant exchanges with Myanmar and continue to provide practical support and cooperation for the development of local communities in Myanmar.​
