​On Monday, August 31, 2026, Korea Saemaul Undong Center (President Kim Gwang-lim) held the opening ceremony for the "2026 Saemaul Undong High-Level Officials Training for Lao PDR". 

The Ceremony was attended by nine senior government officials in the field of rural development, including the Vice Minister of the Lao PDR Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. 

The trainees will receive customized lectures on the principles of Saemaul Undong and rural development policies, and will establish concrete action plans tailored to their own country's circumstances through field trips and policy workshops. 

The Center plans to continue providing steady support so that Lao PDR's rural development policies can be successfully established and Saemaul Plus End Poverty Program (SPEPP) can be carried out smoothly.
