​On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, Korea Saemaul Undong Center discussed sustainable rural development cooperation measures between the two countries with a delegation led by the Vice Minister of the Lao PDR Agriculture and Forestry. 

Officials including the vice minister, H.E. Kikeo, attended the meeting and exchanged views on ways to apply Saemaul Undong to Lao PDR local conditions on strengthening community capacity. 

Based on customized resident education and its experience with model village projects, Korea Saemaul Undong Center plans to continue providing support for rural development in Lao PDR.
